It's actually a bit unfortunate that the name used is CoreTemp2.dll, as I can see some confusion with the CoreTemp program, and the CoreTemp plugin included with Rainmeter. The Program Files location for Rainmeter is intended for items distributed with Rainmeter, and nothing else, unless you are running Rainmeter in "portable" mode.īut for those who have Intel, and simply want to display the CPU temperature and no other sensor information, this might be a nice alternative. 2) SpeedFan : Very robust information about CPU and GPU temperatures, fan speeds and loads. Perfectly fine if you are mostly interested in CPU and case temperatures. If the processor utilization reported by your CPU skin matches Perfmon.exe, but does not match Task Manager and Resource Monitor, its probably because of your processors frequency scaling (SpeedStep and Turbo Boost for Intel processors). Doesnt monitor fan speeds or GPU information. On the General tab, in the Polling Period section, change the Global option to 1000 milliseconds and click the Set button. My take on the various approaches: 1) CoreTemp : Quite good, built-in Rainmeter plugin, but a little limited. Core Temp itself must also be running for the rainmeter plug-in to work. At the bottom of the Sensor Status screen, click the Configure Sensors button. You need to make sure that you are running the latest version of Core Temp 1.0. I strongly recommend that this NOT be installed in the Plugins folder under the Rainmeter program folder if you have a standard installation, but installed in %APPDATA%\Rainmeter\Plugins. Right-click the HWiNFO tray icon and select the Sensors option. It has to be manually installed, as Rainmeter has no ability to distribute anything other than a single 32bit/64bit. It has some limitations, in that it is only for Intel CPU's, and it makes me a bit nervous to distribute Ring0 system drivers. But for this Id need to know what are their names. You should set the BarColor option on them, to the desired color. On the posted code I dont see the bar meters. This means that if you dont set a certain color, the bars will be green. This plugin does not require that CoreTemp.exe be installed or running. Green is the default color for bar meters. Does this plugin has any advantages in front of the built-in plugin?
